Teaching Philosophy Concluding Thoughts
Composition teachers have the enormous responsibility of guiding students in their evolution as writers and communicators. The skills we teach can and should extend well beyond the writing classroom. Our courses should also acknowledge and provide opportunities to critique technology’s undeniable impact on the composition process. Composition courses should offer students the tools they need to effectively express themselves and engage the world around them though multiple modes of communication. To me, it is exciting to think that classroom assignments can have a lasting impact on students’ lives and be helpful in personal, educational, and professional scenarios.
